Song Stalkers

From time to time I have a certain song that follows me wherever I go. You might know what I am talking about. It is not that you seek the song out;  it finds you. This will happen for a few weeks or even a couple of months. This phenomena can happen with current top 40 radio I suppose (although with how much that music is overplayed that is hardly notable.) For me it happens mostly with oldies. Songs that apparently have been classics for years but I only have a passing familiarity with are suddenly all around me.

Currently that song is "Don't Pull Your Love" by Hamilton, Joe Frank and Reynolds. Over the past few weeks I have heard this song everywhere. From the radio on my way into school to the grocery store. I became truly convinced that this song had dedicated itself to following me yesterday when I heard a Muzak version of it in the waiting room of HCMC

As many of you who read this know I live my life with a song in my heart and I am very quick to share that song with the world. This kind of infectious, feel good music is exactly the kind of thing that can get stuck in my head for weeks forcing me to drive everyone around me crazy with my singing. So I am sorry to anyone who has fallen victim.

This certainly isn't the first song which has followed me from time to time though. Others include "Don't Stop Me Now" by Queen and "Night Moves" by Bob Seger (as a side note- my love of this song has given the term "night moves" a special place in my lexicon). Although from time to time these songs aggravate me and those around me (especially when I can only remember a small portion of the lyrics) I think that overall it is probably better to have a 4 minute piece of well crafted pop gold following me around than it is to have a 400 lbs. creepy man rummaging through my garbage.
